Our clients are urgently seeking to recruit a
Locum Band 8a Manager to join their Adult Mental Health Team.
Hours: Monday-Friday 9am to 5pm
JOB PURPOSE
To be responsible for the operational management of the service, contributing to planning, co-ordinating, delivering and evaluating the relevant service to take a lead role in developing teams and services in the relevant pathway and to ensure the delivery of high-quality care.
The AMHT Team Manager will work alongside the Local Leadership Team and Service Manager in contributing to overall Directorate strategy/policy to ensure the Directorate delivers its quality, quality improvement, people, finance and performance objectives (in regard to the service they manage).
The Team Manager will also work with Local Leadership Team, Service Manager, and Senior Lead of Quality and Governance on research development and programmes for their service.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To have responsibility for the recruitment and selection of new staff and ensuring all staff participate in appraisal, continuous professional development (CPD) and mandatory training.
2. To manage a delegated budget.
3. To take the lead in specific Directorate / organisation project work.
4. To deputise and provide support for the Local Leadership Team and Service Manager as required.
5. To work in partnership with the Nurse and AHP clinical leads in the relevant service and countywide to ensure clinical standards and support matrix working.
6. The Adult Mental Health Teams operate between 0700-2100 7 days a week, although the core hours for this role are from 0900-1700 Monday to Friday. This role will be part of the relevant duty manager rota and may involve working unsocial hours during evenings and at weekends as well as working in hours as service need dictates to attend Trust meetings as required.
7. To ensure that the delivery of the clinical service develops in line with local and national strategic priorities, remains within budget, is equitable and involves service users in any development.
8. To work with other services both within and out with the Trust to ensure that all teamwork is an integral part of integrated patient care.
9. To develop a sound working relationship with Adult and Community Mental Health Teams (all age), Inpatient Wards, partner agencies and the locality GP consortia.
10. Establishing strong working relationships with partner organisations especially Health and Social care colleagues, Single point of access, primary healthcare professionals, non-statutory organisations, providing support for Community Mental Health service delivery.
11. To support the Head of Service in shaping the strategic direction for Community Mental Health Services across partner agencies and the third sector
12. To support identified service developments in terms of project management – writing proposals, reports and evaluations and negotiating operational implementation. To take the lead / undertake specific projects to improve the running of MH urgent care teams.
13. To foster innovative practice and empower staff to look at new ways of working.
