Our clients are urgently seeking to recruit a
Locum Band 6 Psychiatric Nurse to join their Rehabilitation Team.
Hours: Monday-Friday 9am to 5pm (one year post)
Key Working Relationships
You will be working as part of the adult Speech and Language Therapy team. You will also be part of the wider multi-disciplinary teams. You will liaise with acute services referring into the teams. You will liaise with GPs and consultants as necessary.
Job Purpose
To be accountable for speech and language therapy services to adults with a long-term or newly acquired neurological condition, presenting with communication difficulties, ensuring that the service is effective and responsive to the changing needs of the local population across the borough. This will involve individual therapy sessions and running groups.
To be accountable for speech and language therapy services to adults, with or without a neurological condition, presenting with swallowing difficulties.
To ensure effective joint working practice between speech and language therapy services and other relevant healthcare professional teams, the voluntary sector, social services etc.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
To hold responsibility for own caseload, working without direct supervision.
To work as a member of the speech and language therapy team, contributing to the planning, development and delivery of an effective and efficient service.
To contribute, as a member of the speech and language therapy team, to the evaluation and audit of practice.
This may lead to the implementation of specific changes to practice or contribute to service protocols/care pathways.
To work closely with other members of the MDT to optimise patient outcomes.
To liaise with other involved agencies and with clients and carers to provide an integrated service.
