Band 8a Psychologist - CAMHS Service

​Our clients are urgently seeking to recruit a

Band 8 Clinical Psychologist to join their CAMHS Team.

Hours: Monday-Friday 9am to 5pm

​

Job Summary

The position will be split with the clinician providing:

• Psychological intervention for mild to moderate anxiety, low mood and other presenting problems at a Getting Help iTHRIVE level in the Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) pathway.

• Assessment and screening in the CAMHS Single Point of Access (SPA). Offering assessment and formulation of need to ensure Children and Young People’s needs are directed to the most suitable intervention within agreed time scales

This is a split may flex or vary depending on service needs

To provide supervision to Band 7 Clinicians and Trainee / Assistant Psychologists in the single point of access and / or Getting Help

To assist in the management of demand and capacity planning in the SPA and CBT Pathway ensuring that local agreed waiting times are met

To provide advice and consultation on clients’ psychological care. To work within Trust and professional guidelines, to a clear CAMHS job plan.

To support the Departmental clinical governance structure through the provision of clinical supervision in relation to specific modalities of psychotherapy and by providing clinical input to supervisees’ PADRs.

To seek opportunities to include service user perspectives in how services are delivered.

To utilise research skills for practice evaluation and service development, as required by the service and set out in the job plan.

To work with the manager and clinical lead to lead the work of a particular team or service area.
